Coastal Kiwanis to hold school supply drive Aug. 23

To help local students start the year on the right foot and set them up for success, the Kiwanis Club of Coastal Delaware will hold a drive to collect children's clothing, backpacks and school supplies from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 23, at Diego’s, 37298 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach. The Kiwanians will have a tent set up in the parking area.

The Kiwanis Club of Coastal Delaware recently celebrated the 98th anniversary of its charter. Since the club was reorganized four years ago, it has grown to 35 members and established the Kiwanis Key Club at Cape Henlopen High School with more than 60 student members. The club supports activities at local organizations including the Community Resource Center, Children’s Beach House, Sussex Family YMCA and Rehoboth Beach Boys & Girls Club.
