Kudos to Jimmie Allen for benefit concert

May 14, 2021

The May 7 edition of your paper was striking to me. In these days of widespread racism charges, Alicia Jones of Lewes was covered in an article describing her formal complaint against the City of Lewes for racism. In the same paper, she also published a letter to the editor knocking a candidate for the school board for alleged racism.

Much smaller coverage was given to Jimmie Allen for donating his time and a free performance to raise funds for the family of the white Delmar policeman who was murdered by a black career criminal. His method of bringing people together was quiet, humble and very effective - noticed I’m sure by people of all races. That’s how you do it. Kudos to Jimmie Allen!!
