L. Margaret Willey, White’s Chapel member

November 11, 2019

L. Margaret Willey, born Oct. 13, 1926, to Edith (West) and Larry Holston, entered into her Heavenly home Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at The Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.

Margaret had a long and fulfilled life as she grew up on a farm near Millsboro, worked at F.L. Woolworth’s in Milford for 20 years and then worked with the Chorman family at their daycare for many years.  She was a member of White’s Chapel and will be dearly missed by her church family.  She enjoyed the warm weather best, and her front porch chats with her friends.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her four-legged grandson Rusty, who she cared for while his parents worked.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Willey; a son Neal; as well as her brothers Ray, Reese and Woody Holston; and her four-legged grandson, Tig.

She is survived by her son Wade and his wife Amy, and their four-legged son Rusty; as well as her sister Virginia Molloy and Ginny’s son, Sean; and her sister-in-law, Pat Holston; as well as extended family, friends and her neighbors at Luther Gardens.

Wade, Amy and Rusty would like to thank everyone who has taken such great care of Mom over the last two months, and everyone who visited and supported her and us during this time.  We have truly felt all the love and prayers extended to us.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton with a time of visitation from noon to 1 p.m.  Burial will follow at White’s Chapel Cemetery.

At Margaret’s request, she would like yellow flowers sent to the funeral home or memorial gifts to White’s Chapel, 15357 Coastal Hwy., Milton, DE 19968.
