La Red to host state chamber breakfast at Long Neck CHEER Aug. 23

August 7, 2018

La Red Health Center and the Long Neck CHEER Activity Center will host the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce Networking Breakfast from 8 to 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 23.

The event’s purpose is to create awareness that La Red plans to begin offering health care services to the general public including residents and tourists, out of the Long Neck CHEER facility in late summer or early fall. Services will include acute illness treatment for fevers, asthma attacks, earaches, colds and flu, headaches and dizziness, as  well as treatment for chronic medical problems. Health screenings for vision, depression, diabetes and blood pressure will also be available.

La Red is currently providing all these health care services out of the Ocean View CHEER facility. Opening an additional site in Long Neck will increase La Red’s capacity to serve residents and visitors in southern Sussex County.

A free breakfast consisting fruit bowls, muffins, premade breakfast slider sandwiches and beverages will be provided to all attendees by the CHEER nutrition staff.

CHEER and LRHC representatives will provide a brief high-level overview about their respective organizations and specifically how the CHEER/LRHC collaboration can be a resource for chamber members, their employees and their customers to gain access to high-quality, affordable health care.

Those interested in attending should register online at the website below or RSVP to Nancy Elliott at 302-515-3040 by Friday, Aug. 17.

The CHEER center is at 26089 Long Neck Road, Millsboro. For more information or to register, go to https://tinyurl.com/y7q4mrys.
