Lawrence ‘Larry’ H. Wood, communications technician

Lawrence "Larry" H. Wood, 76, of Dagsboro, formerly of Centreville, Va., passed away surrounded by his loving family Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at his home.
He was born in Alexandria, Va., Aug. 16, 1942, son of the late Joseph and Alice (Heflin) Wood. Larry retired as a communications technician with RCA in July 2000, and moved to the Dagsboro area.
Larry loved and adored his children so much that he also became a foster parent. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his love of sports, especially the Washington Nationals and the Washington Redskins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Sarah Jane Wood and Amy Dolbeer; a brother, Joseph Wood Jr.; and a sister, Jouann Lee. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Margie (Gebhardt) Wood; six children, Hank Wood and his wife Stacy of King George, Va., Kenneth Wood and his wife Cindy of Lumberton, N.C., Matthew Wood and his wife Heather of Dagsboro, Katy Wood of Panama City Beach, Fla., Timothy Wood and his fiancé Elizabeth Ewing of Georgetown and Sam Wood of Selbyville. He is also survived by a brother, Mike Wood and his wife Charm of Colorado; two sisters, Kathy May and her husband John of Keller, Texas, and Marylou Wood of St. Mary's, Ga.; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his fury companions.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, where friends and family may call after 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro.
