The Sussex County League of Women Voters announced What’s in the Wind will be the theme of its annual meeting set for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, via Zoom.
The keynote speaker will be Peggy Schultz, an environmental activist and offshore wind expert who serves a co‑facilitator of People for Offshore Wind Energy Resources and chair of the state League of Women Voters Advocacy Climate Change and Energy Portfolio. Combining personal environmental commitment with her coalition leadership through POWER and advocacy work for the league, Schultz has worked for consistent public engagement in positioning offshore wind as essential to Delaware’s climate goals, economic opportunity and long‑term environmental resilience.
The agenda includes highlights of accomplishments during the past year, current committee activities and proposed programming for 2026-27.
As a nonpartisan organization, the league welcomes anyone, regardless of gender or political affiliation, who is concerned about local and state issues to join in its mission to empower voters and defend democracy.
