LETTER: Coluzzi thanks voters, reviews platform

August 30, 2018

Many thanks to all who came out to vote and supported me in my run for city commissioner. I want to highlight the issues that were at the center of my campaign.

• Implement creative solutions for addressing parking for all citizens. Promote a system that provides a multi-level approach.
• Create a plan that will provide an approach that will make safety paramount for pedestrians and bicyclists.
• Promote a sensible tree ordinance that preserves our canopy yet provides for the right tree in the right place.
• Provide an environment to help our businesses thrive. We want them to be successful.
• Promote a plan to beautify and enhance our public parks and common public areas.

I will work hard during my term as commissioner to bring these issues to the forefront with thoughtful solutions with hopes of building a consensus that all commissioners can support. While some of the solutions will be funding dependent, I am hopeful that some of these will be near the top of the priority list. But, there are many things we can do to improve our city that are not heavily funding dependent and those are the “low hanging fruit” that I plan to address in the next 90 days.

I ran as the Community Candidate, and now I plan to be the Community Commissioner. What that means is that I am available to listen to your input on issues that confront our city. You should always feel free to contact me with your concerns.

I am extremely appreciative of those people who sought me out to congratulate me. The thoughtfulness of so many truly energizes me. Thanks again to all who supported me!

Pat Coluzzi
Commissioner-elect, City of Rehoboth Beach
