Letter: Dishonest drivers taken to task

January 3, 2019

I have lived in more than 11 states during my lifetime. In no case have I been more disappointed in the honesty of certain drivers than I have been in this area.

Over the last three years, I have had three incidents where a fellow motorist damaged my car and just simply left the scene. They left no note of any kind. All these incidents were in parking lots, the last one at the Tunnell Center on Route 24. Each one of these incidents caused over $1,000 damage to my car.

The latest one had to be by a taller vehicle because the damage was above my door handle.

What is it with these motorists who cannot respect the property of others? Why is this recurring so often in this area?

I am a cancer survivor and a frequent patient at Tunnell Cancer Center; that makes the latest incident even more disappointing. I wish I knew what could be done for these people to help them achieve responsibility for their actions.
