Letter: Hire American-born construction workers

February 15, 2019

It’s time attention is paid to hire American-born and bred for all construction jobs.

Look around, gentlemen. Non-English speaking, non-American workers almost exclusively dominate while our own citizens are shunned by developers. Why?

Cheap labor.

Developers need to have a hire and train program. Before awarding permits and contracts they need to enact an Affirmative Action Program for American workers.

Developers talk out of both sides of their mouths touting workforce housing while they secretly avoid workforce American-born employees.

It is the right approach.
