Letter: Maull-Martin would be excellent board member

April 12, 2019

Janet Maull-Martin would be an excellent member of the Cape school board, and I know from firsthand experience.

When I was principal of Shields and a director of instruction several decades ago, I was lucky to have a great staff, and Janet was an exemplary, bright, dedicated and thoughtful teacher there. I followed her career and watched her grow through the ranks of education.

Ironically, knowing she had such personal traits and dedication, I attempted to recruit her as a board member for our non-profit, ITN Southern Delaware, a transportation cooperative. She attended several meetings and was helpful, but finally informed me that she had two higher priorities in her life: her faith and Cape Henlopen School District. Those were the areas of her passion, and I respected that.

I personally attest that she is smart, hard-working and dedicated to the community. What more could you ask for as a school board member? She has it all. Give her your vote; you will not regret her victory.
