Letter: Milton Little League thanks community

November 13, 2018

On behalf of the children, volunteers, coaches and board members of the Milton Little League, I would like to thank the supporters of our recently completed lighting project on the Minor League Field in Milton.

The effort to bring this project to reality first started in January 2017.

The league was fortunate to be awarded grant funds from the following: Major League Baseball’s Baseball Tomorrow Fund, Sussex County Council (I.G. Burton and Sam Wilson), Winter Wonderfest and Delmarva Power. With these funds secured, the materials were ordered, the contracts were signed and the project began.

Hoping for additional support to fund the labor and related grounds work needed, Milton Little League reached out to the community for additional support.

The community support was once again tremendous and Milton Little League would like to thank the following for their donations: Community Bank Delaware, Community Matters Foundation, George Sherman Corporation, Farm Boys LLC, Delaware Electric Co-op, Parker Block, Thomas and Kathy Engel, the Town of Milton, Gallo Gives Foundation, Irish Eyes, Utility Lines Construction, Atlantic Concrete, Jack Lingo Realtor, Harry Joseph and Sons, Short Funeral Home, Milton Lions Club, Goshen United Methodist Church, Linda and Dave Robinson, Friends of Prime Hook, Janet Lank, Reed Trucking, Cape Gazette, Ronald and Linda Souder, American Cedar, Connie Fisher and Tom Tobin.

An additional thank you to Nickle Electric for its guidance and support through the entire project from start to finish. The lights will be used to increase playing time for decades to come for the youth of Milton.

Amazing things can happen with the support of local generous people as those named above. We thank you for making this possible!
