LETTER: We suport McGuiness for state auditor

August 30, 2018

We support Rehoboth Beach City Commissioner Kathy McGuiness for State Auditor of Accounts.

Kathy’s experiences as a Rehoboth commissioner, former Main Street small business owner, and a member of many nonprofit boards qualify her to set policies, manage an office, and assign firms to audit agencies, as well as serve on the board of pardons. She has the management and leadership skills essential to move the office forward and to audit state agencies and nonprofits so that hard-earned tax dollars are not wasted.

As a commissioner in Rehoboth Beach we have seen Kathy take a very active role in the business of the city. She studies the issues and proposes thoughtful and wise policies for complex issues. Kathy participates in every aspect of city life, talks to citizens and business owners, and most importantly listens to concerns and brings their ideas to the commission.

Kathy is not only a hard worker, she is motivated to serve Delawareans up and down the state. As state auditor Kathy will pay attention to citizens of the state, and use her wide variety of experiences to stand up for our interests and protect our tax dollars. Kathy will bring a fresh perspective to the office, and will fight fraud, waste, and abuse of public resources. With Kathy’s leadership we know we can expect to achieve the desired results of the office.

Kathy McGuiness is the most qualified candidate for state auditor, and I hope you will join us in voting for her Sept. 6.
