The Historic Lewes Farmers Market received a special donation of $20,000 from the Lee Ann Wilkinson Group in celebration of the 2026 season.
With this gift, the Lee Ann Wilkinson Group continues as Saturday Market Champion, as it has done since the start of the HLFM sponsorship program in 2020.
The Lee Ann Wilkinson Group also will sponsor the second annual Historic Lewes Farmers Market Farm to Table Brunch. Celebrating the deep roots of small-scale agriculture in Delaware, the event will be held Sunday, Oct. 11. Details will follow.
The HLFM operations are an integral part of Lewes’ special character, its sense of place and way of life, providing a family-friendly gathering place that honors and reinforces the region’s sense of community and strong agricultural roots. The community-based nonprofit has been serving the City of Lewes and nearby communities for the last 21 years through its weekly markets, educational activities and various programs to increase access to fresh, local food. It supports small family farms by providing a marketplace for a wide array of locally produced organic and sustainably grown produce, meats, seafood, dairy and other agricultural products.
Chris Holt, chief operating officer for The Lee Ann Wilkinson Group, said, “The Lee Ann Wilkinson Group is so honored and excited to serve as the Market Champion sponsor for the Historic Lewes Farmers Market once again. The HLFM provides such an integral and unmatched contribution to making the Lewes community a vibrant and wonderful place to live and visit. Further, in addition to the Wednesday and Saturday markets, the HLFM provides incredibly beneficial programs and services for our local farmers and the community at large. We all look forward to seeing friends, farmers and neighbors at the 2026 market season.”
The HLFM thanks The Lee Ann Wilkinson Group, a part of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty, for its strong commitment to the market and its mission to support family farm businesses and bring fresh, healthy food to those who need it most.
