June 7, 2019

The Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau sponsors its 29th annual Lewes Garden Tour Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are nine private gardens on the tour this year. Tickets are available for sale and include a description of each garden. The gardens are selected by the event committee chair with assistance from other members of the committee. This year’s chair is Linda Davison, who is serving in her fourth year as head of the committee.

In addition to touring the gardens, the event includes a Garden Market in Zwaanendael Park where more than 30 vendors are located, selling garden-related items during the hours of the tour -10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are several vendor spaces available. Only garden-related items are allowed to be sold. Spaces are $100 each and must be reserved in advance by contacting the Lewes Chamber of Commerce at 302-645-8073.

Three members of the Cape Artists - Curtis Smith, Daphne Blaker and Jean Bowers - will be painting in the gardens, and artists Fred Dylla and Steve Rogers will be painting in their own gardens that are included on the tour.  Tourgoers can enjoy beverages and lunch provided by Full Belly Bistro in the refreshment tent in Zwaanendael Park. During the hours of the tour, free shuttle service is available for ticket holders. Chamber members Lewes Senior Center, Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Gallo Realty and the Jolly Trolley will provide the shuttle services.

Tickets for the tour of gardens are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the tour. Tickets are on sale through the day of the tour at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce visitor center in the Fisher-Martin House in Zwaanendael Park next to the Zwaanendael Museum. They can also be purchased in Rehoboth Beach at Windsor’s Flowers & Plants on Coastal Highway, and The Stepping Stone and the Inn at Canal Square in Lewes.
