A Lewes man was sent to an area hospital Nov. 3 after police say he ransacked a neighbor’s home and then barricaded himself at his Lewes home.
Police were called to a home at 10:10 a.m. in the 17400 block of Taramino Place by a woman who said her neighbor had entered her apartment and ransacked it, damaging some items, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police.
Police went to the apartment of her 57-year-old neighbor, but he barricaded himself inside and refused to leave, Jaffe said.
Members of the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team responded to the scene and they were eventually able to take the man into custody without further incident, Jaffe said. The man was transported to a local area hospital for an evaluation. There were no reports of any injuries as a result of this incident.
There have been no charges filed. As policy, the Cape Gazette does not publish names of people unless they have been charged with a felony.
