Lewes men face charges in burglaries

Two men face charges following an investigation into burglaries in Lewes.

Michael Gieron, 34, of Lewes went to six homes Feb. 14 to 17 and took items during the daytime, said Chief Thomas Spell of the Lewes Police Department. The homes were vacant residences in the unit block of Rhode Island, the 600 block of Pilottown Road, the unit block of Queen Anne and the 400 block of W. 3rd streets. With evidence recovered at the scene as well as information received in cooperation with the Delaware State Police, Spell said police charged Gieron with five counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of theft over $1,500, three counts of theft under $1,500, three counts of criminal mischief and one count of receiving stolen property.

Police also arrested Joshua Harshbarger, 35, of Lewes and charged him with two counts of receiving stolen property.
