Lewes Police donate No Shave November proceeds

February 13, 2019

The Lewes Police Department participated in No Shave November to raise funds for Beebe Healthcare’s Tunnell Cancer Center. Members of the department grew mustaches as part of a nationwide movement to raise cancer awareness by embracing their hair, which many cancer patients lose.

“We are honored that the Lewes Police Department chose Beebe Healthcare’s Tunnell Cancer Center as the beneficiary of their No Shave November fundraiser. The funds raised will benefit cancer patients here in Sussex County. We can’t thank the department enough for their support of Beebe and for keeping our community safe,” said Tom Protack, vice president of development, Beebe Medical Foundation.

Sgt. Sherrie Harmon said “Members of the police department and city administration were happy to participate in the charity indoor cycle ride at Sea Cycle Indoor and donate all the money raised to such a worthy cause as the Tunnell Cancer Center. We are already looking forward to doing it again next year and raising even more!”

To find out how to give to Beebe Healthcare, call Beebe Medical Foundation at 302-644-2900 or email foundation@beebehealthcare.org.
