Lewes Polka Dots join Habitat for Humanity build

June 24, 2022

Members of the Lewes chapter of the Polka Dot Powerhouse continued their fight against homelessness by joining Sussex County Habitat for Humanity on a build site in March.

“As a chapter, one of our goals this year is to be more active in the community,” said Melissa Clampitt, PDP managing director. Clampitt and other PDP members helped build the roof of a shed, put up curtains, and paint trim and doors.

“It is important to us as a collective to have an outreach to those local organizations where we can make an impact, no matter how big or small. Habitat for Humanity is a wonderful way for us to take part in working together with others to support a common goal. The members who were involved felt so warm and welcomed, and some even decided to participate in the Habitat golf fundraiser, too. We believe community, collaboration and connection are key to building successful relationships,” said Clampitt.

The build was part of the chapter members’ year-long push to learn more about and help those who are homeless in the local area.

Polka Dot Powerhouse’s mission is to connect the world’s most positive, action-forward, amazing women to build lifelong friendships and business relationships.

The Polka Dot sisterhood brings together women from all walks of life, ages, races, backgrounds, locations and industries. Together, they drive momentum, learn from and support one another, collaborate in business and link through referrals.
