Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary donates $1,000 to Clothing Our Kids

February 5, 2019

With forecasts of more cold weather ahead, the Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary Club donated $1,000 to Clothing Our Kids, an organization that provides needy Sussex County children with warm winter clothing.

Rotary club member George Jarvis nominated COK for a charitable donation after he and his wife Fran heard about the critical need for appropriate winter clothing for county children. On hand to receive the Rotary club check was Glenn Schuster, COK community outreach director.

Clothing Our Kids is a local, all-volunteer organization providing clothing, shoes and coats to at-risk elementary school children throughout Sussex County – all without charge. Working exclusively with school nurses to identify needy children and families, volunteers distributed more than 21,000 clothing items to over 3,800 local elementary school kids in 2018.

Rotary's mission is to make the greater Lewes community a better place to live, work, go to school and raise a family, through service and fundraising projects. The club meets at 5:45 p.m. every Monday for dinner at the Children’s Beach House in Lewes. Community-spirited individuals are invited to attend.
