Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary supports Delaware’s wounded veterans

September 29, 2019

The Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary Club donated $3,000 to the Delmar chapter of Operation Second Chance, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting wounded warriors and their families in Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Serving more than 40 families in the region, OSC’s mission is to help wounded veterans as they recover and transition back to civilian life. Operation Second Chance delivers numerous services including hospital visits, counseling, retreats, scholarships, educational programs, caregiver services, home maintenance and emergency financial assistance.

Rotary’s current donation brings the club’s total support for OSC to $23,000 over the last four years.

Rotary's mission is to make the greater Lewes community a better place to live, work, go to school and raise a family through both service and fundraising projects. The club meets at 5:45 p.m. every Monday for dinner at the Children’s Beach House on Bay Avenue in Lewes. Community-spirited individuals are invited to attend.
