A Lewes woman was found in the surf Feb. 12 north of the Indian River Inlet.
Members of the Rehoboth Beach Vol. Fire Co. diving and scuba team and other emergency officials responded to the Indian River Inlet about 5 p.m. after some surfers reported the body, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police.
The woman, 48, had washed ashore north of the inlet when surfers found her. Her body was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science in order to determine the cause and manner of death, Jaffe said.
Jaffe said there is no suspicious activity surrounding the incident at this time.
