Lewes/Rehoboth Major All-Stars run over Georgetown 9-1

Nick Clampitt delivered a five-hit, one-run performance on the mound for the Lewes/Rehoboth Major All-Stars July 15, as they defeated a good Georgetown team 9-1 at the Georgetown Little League complex.

Clampitt threw six innings, recording five strikeouts. He also went 2-for-4 at the plate.

The Lewes/Rehoboth squad slammed eight hits in the game. Jack Simeone went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Canaan Mears had two RBIs, while Ethan James, Anthony Brittingham, Brayden Cronic and Macland Mumford each had a hit. Mumford garnered two RBIs, and Cronic slammed one RBI.

Thomas Klosiewicz led the Georgetown team at the plate, going 2-for-3. Luke Elliott, Zach Parker and Tripp Rogers each had a hit. Cameron Smith drove in the only Georgetown run.

Elliott went three innings on the mound, striking out one batter. Aaron Towers came in from the bullpen and threw two innings, striking out two.

The Lewes/Rehoboth team started out with hot bats, scoring two in the first inning and three in each of the following two. They added an insurance run in the fifth inning.

“I’m really pleased with the way our team played tonight,” said Lewes Rehoboth manager Greg James. “They came ready to play, and we had an exceptional pitching performance backed by some great defensive plays and clutch hits. It was a great effort from the entire team.”

Lewes/Rehoboth will play Lower Sussex at 6 p.m., Monday, July 19, in Milton.
