Lewis E. Kofron, loved the outdoors

Lewis E. Kofron, 84, of Millsboro passed away Friday, July 6, 2018. He was born Sept. 21, 1933, in Claymont, son of the late Lewis and Helen (Michalek) Kofron.

Mr. Kofron grew up in North Wilmington. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1956-58. Following his service, he worked at the Amoco Refinery in Wilmington for many years, before becoming an electrician and plumber, working for various local companies.

Mr. Kofron was a member of AMVETS Post 22 in Long Neck, Millsboro. In his free time, he enjoyed his Amoco retirees weekly breakfasts, hunting and fishing. Above all, Mr. Kofron had a love for the outdoors, and was often seen outside on a walk.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kofron is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Kofron, and his niece, Carrie Snell. He is survived by his brothers, Francis, James and George Kofron; his sister, Doris Ballasch; his nephews, James Lewis Kofron and David Ballasch; his nieces, Kathy Olson and Kim Pennachio; and many great-nieces and -nephews.

Friends may visit Monday, July 16, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Interment will be private.
