Lillian E. Sneddon, church volunteer

Lillian “Lil” E. Sneddon, 83, of Frankford, formerly of West Deptford, N.J., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, April 13, 2019, at her home.

She was born Oct. 4, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late William and Rose (Frake) Roney. Lil graduated from Bartram High School in Philadelphia and attended Drexel and Gloucester Community College.

Mrs. Sneddon and her husband owned and operated Evesham Business Supply & Printing Company in Deptford, N.J., before retiring in 1995. They permanently moved to Frankford in 1998 and she became heavily involved in her community.

She was a member of almost every committee at Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View. She volunteered countless hours on the finance committee at the church and also was a member of Women of the Word at the church. Lil enjoyed bowling and was a talented oil painter. She had a giving heart and loved helping people. Lil also loved being around her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, John Dougherty and George McBride Sneddon II; and two brothers, William and Thomas Roney. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, George McBride Sneddon; two daughters, Linda Molineaux and her husband Benjamin of Frankford, and Dianne Sneddon-Wilson of Frankford; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, at Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church, 81 Central Ave., Ocean View, where friends and family may gather after 10 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date in the adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Lil’s name to Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church at the above address.
