Lincoln man faces drug charges

A Lincoln man faces charges after police say he was dealing drugs March 25 in Laurel.

Police were called at 5:35 p.m. to the Royal Farms, 30983 Sussex Highway, Laurel, for a person in a silver Lexus continuously driving around the building, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police.

The car was gone when police arrived, but police later spotted the Lexus in the Lakeside Inn parking lot at 30931 Sussex Highway. Lamont A. Hazzard, 42, was standing next to the driver’s side of the Lexus when police arrived, and they detected an odor of alcohol, Jaffe said.

Jaffe said police also found about 10 grams of methamphetamine, about .2 grams of heroin, four Lorazepam pills and drug paraphernalia.

Hazzard was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance tier 2 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Hazzard was arraigned and released on $30,800 unsecured bond.
