A Lincoln man faces his sixth driving under the influence charge after police stopped him Sept. 28 on Savannah Road in Lewes.
Richard A. Moore, 54, was driving near Shields Elementary School at 11:30 a.m. when he was pulled over for driving 34 mph in a 25 mph zone, said Lewes Police Chief Thomas Spell.
Police contacted Moore and gave him a portable breath test that showed more than double the legal level, Spell said. Moore was taken into custody for a blood alcohol test and later charged with sixth-offense driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, no insurance, fictitious tag and speeding. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $10,000 cash bail.
