Lincoln woman wins porch protection system, donates to mother

September 23, 2018

In late summer, Porch Protection Systems of Seaford ran a contest for a lucky homeowner to win a free system. Contestants could text the word "porch" to the TV station airing the ad, WMDT Channel 47, and get a shot at the prize, valued at up to $4,000.

The winner, selected at random by Channel 47, was Althea Morris of Lincoln. Bill Whaley, owner of Porch Protection Systems, went to Morris’ house to congratulate her and present her with a certificate and other items imprinted with the Porch Protection Systems logo. To his surprise, she asked him to follow her a few doors down to her mother's house and present the prize to her instead.

Her shocked mother said, "The Lord nudged me this morning that I would receive a blessing today." She revealed that she had wanted a Porch Protection System for her porch for several years, but never thought she could afford it. The Porch Protection System makes it possible to use a screened porch year-round, and that's what she really wanted.

Whaley said, "It was so heartwarming to witness such a sweet gesture from a loving daughter to her mom. The system was installed on Aug. 7, and she was so excited and I was so happy for her!"

Porch Protection Systems manufactures clear vinyl roll-up/down curtains for screened porches. They install all over Delmarva and ship nationwide as DIY projects. For more information, contact Porch Protection Systems at 302-629-4430 or gp tp www.porchprotection.com.
