Lingo Realtor to sponsor Southern Delaware Oysterfest April 6

March 22, 2019

Jack Lingo, Realtor, announced its sponsorship of the Southern Delaware Oysterfest, set for 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 6, at The Beacon Motel in Lewes. This event will benefit local nonprofit organizations, Delaware Wild Lands Inc. and The Greater Lewes Foundation. Tickets will include raw and fried oysters, delicious sides from The Pig and Publican restaurant and live music.

“There are three reasons to come out to this afternoon of fun: firstly, if you want to eat great food; secondly, if you want to hear great music; thirdly, if you want to support two phenomenal organizations that do so much good for our community,” said Carrie Lingo, member of the Lingo family and head of the Carrie Lingo Team.

Delaware Wild Lands Inc. is a conservation organization which has helped to protect 30,000 acres of land across Delmarva. The organization currently owns and manages 20,000 acres of land, and its mission is to protect the region’s air, water, wildlife, farms and forests.

The Greater Lewes Foundation exists to encourage and facilitate philanthropic endeavors throughout Lewes, thereby enhancing the area’s quality of life. Through the foundation, Lewes residents can create an individual or family fund in support of whatever cause they wish.

The Southern Delaware Oysterfest will coincide with the 10th Annual Lewes Tulip Celebration. Betsy Reamer, executive director of the Lewes Chamber of Commerce, said, “The tulip celebration is in its 10th year and, during that time, has added new activities to enhance the experience of both area residents and new visitors to Lewes. The oysterfest will take place on the first weekend of the tulip celebration and will attract new attendees. Visitors can experience the beauty of 20,000 tulips while supporting the organizations benefiting from the oysterfest.”

After enjoying the Lewes Tulip Celebration, people can come over the drawbridge to relax and support two amazing local causes.

Tickets are $50. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to www.dewildlands.org. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted free.
