Livestreamed concert to benefit epilepsy foundation Sept. 16

September 2, 2020

Joey’s Song: Fighting Epilepsy with Music, a virtual concert event to raise awareness and funding for epilepsy support, will be broadcast live at  8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware’s Facebook page and efde.org.

Musical entertainers will be Grammy Award nominee Jewel; Butch Vig, who has played with Nirvana, Garbage, Foo Fighters and Smashing Pumpkins; Brian Aubert of the Silversun Pickups; Chris Collingwood of Fountains of Wayne; and Justin Currie of Del Amitri.

Joey’s Song started in 2010 following the death of 5-year old Joey Gomoll from Dravet Syndrome, a rare and particularly debilitating form of epilepsy. When COVID-19 made a 2020 live show impossible, the Joseph Gomoll Foundation took the opportunity to invite epilepsy organizations from across the country to participate a virtual concert.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware is taking part in this livestreaming event to raise funds and bring awareness to the 10,000 Delawareans currently living with epilepsy.
