Local 12-year-old Irelynn Farrington publishes book

Portion of proceeds donated to oncology ward at A.I. duPont
July 16, 2018

Irelynn Farrington, 12, of Dover, has become a local author. Her book, “The Perfect Unicorn,” is a wonderful story filled with imagination in a kingdom of kings, queens, princesses, knights, and trolls.

Irelynn will read from her book and sign books Wednesday, July 25, at Bethany Beach Books. She will read from her book at 10 a.m. and she will also sign books from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Children who attend will have the opportunity to complete a unicorn craft and have a picture taken with a unicorn backdrop.

Her publicity is steadily increasing, as she has already been on several news stations.  With the funds that she has made from “The Perfect Unicorn,” Irelynn has donated a portion to the oncology ward at Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, along with 20 toys. She also donated copies of her book to several local schools.

“If you always try hard and dream big,” Irelynn said, “you will succeed. May all your wishes come true.”

“The Perfect Unicorn” is for sale at Barnes and Noble, and on Amazon, Kindle, Goodreads, Browseabout Books, Finding Avalon and Bethany Beach Books.
