Local author of ‘People with LGBTQ+ Parents’ to appear July 24

Mikayla Denault of Berlin, Md., will appear at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, to sign copies of “Raised by Unicorns: Stories from People with LGBTQ+ Parents.”

“Raised by Unicorns” is a carefully edited anthology that reflects on the upbringing of children in many different forms of LGBTQ+ families. In the book, Renault shares her story about growing up with two mothers.

With tales from Baby Boomers to Generation Z members, the book features diverse stories that express the distinctiveness of this shared journey and of each particular family. It is visceral, raw, and not always pretty, but love is always the common thread.
