George, Miles & Buhr LLC announced Benjamin K. Hearn, PE, vice president and senior project manager, has been named a 2026 Rising Star by the Zweig Group and was recognized on The Zweig List, a platform honoring the architecture, engineering and construction industry’s most innovative firms, impactful projects and influential leaders.
Honorees represent the next generation of leaders shaping the future of the built environment. At GMB, Hearn is a trusted municipal engineering leader known for delivering practical solutions that strengthen communities. He serves as a key advisor to local governments across Delaware, guiding complex infrastructure improvements from planning through execution.
In addition to his technical achievements, Hearn is deeply committed to public service. He currently serves as a volunteer firefighter with the Lewes Fire Department and has dedicated more than a decade to fire service in Delaware.
Hearn earned his bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Delaware in 2016, and he is a licensed professional engineer in Delaware and Maryland. He is an active member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers, and he is certified as a Qualified MS4 Stormwater Permit Compliance Professional. In addition to his recognition as a Rising Star this year, Hearn was also honored as the 2026 National Society of Professional Engineers’ Delaware Young Engineer of the Year.
