Local Firm completing off-season construction project at King’s Creek Country Club

February 11, 2019

The southern Delaware owned and operated Whayland Co., a local fixture on Delmarva for nearly seven decades, has been retained and is completing an important off-season project at King’s Creek Country Club in Rehoboth Beach.

It’s the second project Whayland is working on for the long-time country club in Rehoboth Beach, having finished a new outdoor bar area last summer. The 2019 project includes new facilities at the club’s swimming pool area, which will be used by members and guests beginning in the summer of 2019.

“The winter months are obviously the best time of year to be completing this type of project and we’re proud and happy to be working once again with the folks at King’s Creek Country Club,” says Steve Hentschel, owner and president of the Whayland Company. “We take a great deal of pride in forming long-lasting relationships with businesses in the local community, and we certainly feel that our work speaks for itself.”

The new 6,600-square-foot building at King’s Creek will feature several amenities, including a kitchen, a lounge area, a fitness room, a changing area and restrooms. Construction began in November and is expected to be completed by Memorial Day, just in time for coastal Delaware’s warm weather season.

“The new pool building will allow King’s Creek to further its reputation for providing top quality amenities and service to it’s members, as well as their invited guests,” says Hentschel. “It will be a place that’s relaxing, peaceful and comfortable for anyone who’s visiting the pool area at the club.”

King's Creek Country Club, a resort community nestled in the Nation's Summer Capital of Rehoboth Beach, features a number of topnotch amenities, including a state-of-the-art clubhouse, fabulous restaurants, a swimming pool and one of the area's finest 18-hole golf courses. The new swimming pool building, once complete, will further enhance the amenities at the club.

Since opening its doors in 1950, the management and staff of the Whayland Co., has worked continuously to secure its reputation as a high-value, reasonably priced provider of construction and project management services on the Delmarva Peninsula. The company’s clients have long recognized the value of partnering with a firm that not only offers comprehensive services, but also tailors those services to the clients’ needs.
