Local owners to display electric vehicles at Milton farmers market Sept. 21

September 12, 2018

Sussex electric vehicle advocates will celebrate electric vehicles and their many beneficial attributes at the Milton Farmers Market from 3 to 6 p.m., Friday Sept. 21, at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Milton. This event was rescheduled from Sept. 14 due to weather conditions.

Delaware Electric Vehicle Association and Delaware Sierra Club members will bring EVs for ride and drive. Information on zero pollution transportation will be available. A variety of EVs including Tesla, Chevy Volt and Bolt, and Nissan LEAF will be on display. All EV owners are welcome to show their cars and share their views. Charging will be available for those who bring their EVs.

“Common courtesy applies, so that if there are any shoppers at the farmers market who need a charge, we will give them space,” said Charlie Garlow of the Delaware Electric Vehicle Association. “The farmers market and Dogfish Head have been kind enough to set aside five additional parking spaces for our display.”

National Drive Electric Week, celebrated Sept. 8-16 this year, is sponsored nationally and locally by the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association and their local chapters. For this event, the Delaware Electric Vehicle Association and the Delaware Sierra Club Sussex Section are main sponsors.
