Local schools may apply for Tanger grants by March 15

February 13, 2019

Tanger Outlets announced a call for entries from schools in the Rehoboth Beach area for this year’s TangerKids Grants program. All grant applications must be submitted by Friday, March 15.

Teachers and administrators from local schools may submit applications for programs and projects in which the majority of the activity will be completed between August 2019 and May 2020. Each school may submit multiple grant requests, and each will be considered separately.

The program is designed to satisfy the specific funding needs of local schools, from the implementation of school-wide programs, to rebuilding equipment and academic materials inventories, to supporting athletic or band programs. In keeping with Tanger Outlets’ mission to support children’s futures, the TangerKids Grants program awards grant money to local schools in the communities where Tanger Outlet Centers are located. Each year, more than $200,000 is awarded in individual grants to schools in need nationwide.

Locally, Tanger Outlets awards $6,000 in grants to Sussex County schools. Grants awarded this year will benefit schools for the 2019-20 school year.

“A substantial part of our mission at Tanger Outlets is to contribute positively to the communities in which we operate,” said Steven B. Tanger, Tanger Outlets president and CEO. “A high-quality education is instrumental in enhancing our communities, and we are proud to once again give back to these remarkable schools as part of our efforts to support students and educators across the country.”
