Lodge at Truitt Homestead health workshops continue Feb. 27

February 22, 2020

Beebe Healthcare and Vantage Point Retirement Living announce the third and fourth workshops in their Healthy Living series.

A healthy brain workshop is set for 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27. Guest speaker Robert Irwin, SLP, from Beebe Healthcare will discuss how to maintain a healthy brain. Dementia is on the rise and is expected to increase the next 30 years. Workshop attendees will learn simple things they can do to keep their minds, bodies and spirits sharp.

Sitting is the New Smoking, a healthy body workshop, will take place at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 12. Guest speaker Debbie Sheing, MPT, of Beebe Healthcare and Suzette Chambers of Vantage Point will talk about how and why people should move their bodies as they age. People drive and sit, eat and sit, watch TV and sit. Is there a way to live in a sedentary society and still be healthy? Attendees will learn what they can do to help themselves remain healthy and independent – and leave with all the tools they need to live the lives they want.

These wellness classes are offered thanks to the partnership between Beebe and The Lodge at Truitt Homestead to bring services directly and conveniently to residents.

Free and open to the public, the workshops will be held at the Discovery office of The Lodge at 17726 Garden Path, Rehoboth Beach. For more information or to RSVP, go to www.TruittLodge.com/Events or call 302-260-4836. Seating is limited.
