Lois A. McMonigle, loved the outdoors

Lois A. McMonigle, 82, of Lewes passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018.

Born in Wilmington March 3, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Leroy and Mabel (Stewart) Miller.  Lois managed the former J & D Pet Store in the New Castle Farmers Market for 17 years.

With a love for the outdoors, Lois enjoyed camping, gardening and boating. Her fondest memories were made during family game nights and dinners with the Evergreen gang.  In Lois’ spare time, she liked shopping at flea markets and garage sales.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Brown, and brother, Roy Miller.  Lois is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, William F. McMonigle Sr.; sons, Barry McMonigle (Mary) and William McMonigle (Chris); daughters, Sharon Draine (Robert), Susan Allabaugh (Dave), Cindy Robinson (Joe) and Mary Codgill (Jim); 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, at Angola Beach Estates Clubhouse, 22971 Suburban Blvd., Lewes.  Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lois’ memory to Tunnell Cancer Center, 18947 John J. Williams Highway, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, or Seasons Hospice of Delaware, 220 Continental Drive, Ste. 101, Newark, DE 19713.
