Lord Baltimore Lions perform beach cleanup in Bethany

July 13, 2019

Lord Baltimore Lions Club recently met at Bethany Beach to clean up litter and other debris that hinders the environmental health of the beach. The Lions worked at their designated section of beach for two hours and collected bottle caps, wrappers, plastic bottles and many other items that they identified and cataloged in a report to the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.

Lion Steve Straneva, environmental committee chair, said there will be opportunities for Lions to return and clean the area several times this summer.

The Lord Baltimore Lions Club service area includes Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Millville, Frankford, Clarkesville and Dagsboro. Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m., the first and third Wednesday of the month at Mac’s Catering in Millville.
