Louise E. McCabe, owned press company

Louise E. McCabe, 90, of Wilmington, formerly of Millsboro, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at ManorCare Health Services-Pike Creek in Wilmington.

Louise was born in Selbyville Aug. 3, 1929, daughter of the late Charles Browne and Kathryn E. (Murray) Browne.  She was a graduate of Selbyville High School in 1947, and also received her certificate in secretarial studies from Goldey-Beacom in Wilmington.

Louise grew up in Selbyville, raised her family in Wilmington prior to retiring in Millsboro.  She and her husband Robert owned and operated McCabe Press in Wilmington for 20 years prior to her retirement.  

Mrs. McCabe was a member of the River Church in Roxana where she served as their librarian.  She loved animals, reading, cross stitch and going to the beach.   She shared her reading, volunteering for Project Read.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. McCabe Sr. in 1990; her three siblings, Betty Lynch of Frankford, Buster Browne of Chesapeake City, Md., and Van Browne of Dagsboro; son-in-law, Gary W. Renshaw of Wilmington; a daughter-in-law, Theresa McCabe of Bear; and a mother-in-law, Mary Talley of Fenwick Island.  Louise is survived by her son, Robert W. McCabe Jr. of Bear; and two daughters, Susan Renshaw of Wilmington and Kathy Mancari of Middletown; a father-in-law, Harlon Talley of Fenwick Island; three grandchildren, Tricia Renshaw (Brian Bayley) of Wilmington, Gary Renshaw (Christi) of Wilmington and Michelle Whalen of Wilmington; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Ally Renshaw, Theresa, Alexis and Jason; along with multiple nieces and nephews.

Louise’s family would like to thank Manor Care Long Term Care staff Lola Durosomo and Holly Darron, and Heartland Hospice for care and support.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, June 1, at St. George’s Cemetery in Clarksville.  Masks are required at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Louise’s name to Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Chapter, 399 Market St. Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106, or House of Hope Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 430, North East, MD 21901.
