Food drive collection boxes were placed throughout the school.
For the second year in a row, Cape Accelerated Program students from Love Creek Elementary School participated in the Food Bank of Delaware’s Stuff the Bus food drive.
Boxes placed throughout the school encouraged all students and staff to bring in food items. CAP students also advertised the campaign all over the building with posters and ran videos on the morning announcements.
Food collected included a variety of nonperishable items and canned goods, as well as popular holiday items such as mashed potatoes, turkey pans, canned sweet potatoes and canned pumpkin. DART Marketing Specialist Patty Boyd drove the Heart of DART truck to Love Creek Nov. 12 and picked up the donated items to help stuff the bus.
