Lunch With a Purpose board members and representatives from the eight nonprofits selected as beneficiaries for the upcoming season attended a June 4 luncheon at Baywood Clubhouse Restaurant near Millsboro.

Cheryl Mitchell of Lunch With a Purpose welcomed and introduced attendees, and Helen Phillips presented an overview of the group’s process.

Lunch With a Purpose will work with the selected charities on fundraising luncheons each first Wednesday of the month, September through May, excluding January.

Dates and participating charities this year are: Sept. 2, Nurses & Neighbors Collaborative; Oct. 7, Sussex County Habitat for Humanity; Nov. 4, Fostering Wishes Foundation; Dec. 2, Primeros Pasos Early Learning Center; Feb. 3, Warrior Weekend Program; March 3, Champions for Children’s Mental Health; April 7, Frankford Public Library; and May 5, First State Community Action Agency.

Program contributions for the 2025-26 season totaled $118,771 in cash and in-kind donations, and 11,280 pounds of food were donated to area pantries. In addition, $2,988 was donated to the Food Bank of Delaware and Harry K Foundation backpack programs.
