LWVSC to present Battle for the Vote May 31 in Millsboro
Mike Dixon from Delaware Humanities will present “Voters at Last: Battle for the Vote” at the League of Women Voters of Sussex County’s Annual Meeting Friday, May 31, noon to 2 p.m., at the Peninsula Golf and Country Club in Millsboro. As a nonpartisan organization, the league welcomes anyone interested in empowering voters to attend the luncheon program, regardless of gender or political affiliation.
The presentation is funded by a grant from Delaware Humanities, a state program of the National Endowment for the Humanities, which strives to “enhance our understanding of who we are, where we’ve been, and where we are going as individuals, communities, and citizens of Delaware.” Dixon, a researcher and adjunct history professor, holds graduate degrees in history and the behavioral sciences, and has appeared on the Today Show as well as the National Geographic Channel.
A brief business meeting will follow the presentation, including election of officers, adoption of program items, and approval of the budget for 2019-21.
