Lewes Yacht Club hosted a Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association regatta July 22, a windy day on Delaware Bay, drawing teams from all across the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Sailors 19 and younger could compete in races featuring a variety of boats including Sunfish, Optimist, Club 420 and Laser Radial 6.
Tyler Steele of Lewes Yacht Club won the Sunfish title, with fellow LYC sailor Leyton Burke taking second place.
LYC's Henry Cummins and Max Weiss finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the Laser Radial 6 competition.
Ryan Richards of LYC earned a fifth-place finish in the Optimist Green division.
Lucas Brianceau and Ryan Smith garnered LYC's highest finish in the Club 420 division, finishing 12th overall.
Other competitors visited from Annapolis Yacht Club, Tred Avon Yacht Club, Miles River Yacht Club, North East River Yacht Club, Rock Hall Yacht Club, Severn Sailing Association and Cambridge Yacht Club. All visiting clubs are based in Maryland.
