Lydia ‘Bif’ Warner, loved animals

July 19, 2018

Lydia “Bif” Warner, 59, died peacefully Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at her home in Lewes with her loving wife Chris Kennedy by her side.

She was born Sept. 1, 1958, in Hanover, Pa., to the late Mary Margaret Murren and E. Burnell Warner. She graduated from Littlestown (Pa.) High School in 1976 and worked for years in manufacturing. But it was Bif’s love for animals that led her to the career of her lifetime. She was an animal care assistant at Savannah Animal Hospital of Lewes where she formed lasting relationships with all her clients and their pets. Prior to that, Bif worked at Clark’s of Hanover, Pa., and Harley-Davidson of York, Pa., before she and Chris moved to Lewes.

In addition to her wife, she is survived by two sisters, Cindy Warner Witt of Florida and Pattie Warner Hughes of Pennsylvania; a brother, Tony Warner of Arkansas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be greatly missed by her four-legged “kids” Micki, Max, Rocky and Frankie; and by her cherished friends, too many to mention.

Bif was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved the Nittany Lions from her home state of Pennsylvania “We Are!” She also enjoyed playing softball and was a great teammate. As of now, No. 20 is retired. Those who knew her will mostly miss her big smile and her sense of humor, especially remembering that “I didn’t do anything wrong.”

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 21, at St. John the Baptist Church in Milton. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.

A second service will be held at a later date in Bif's hometown of Littlestown, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pet Pantry of Lancaster County, 26 Millersville Road, Lancaster, PA 17603, or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
