Makayla Terraé Watson, loved her family

Makayla Terraé Watson transitioned from this life Friday, May 13, 2022, in Milford.

Makayla was born Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, in Wilmington, to the late Peggy Dennard and Terry Watson. She was an only child.

Makayla attended Positive Outcomes Charter School in Camden and graduated with the Class of 2019. After graduation, she enjoyed spending quality time with the animals awaiting adoption at the SPCA in Dover. Makayla also enjoyed reading books, listening to music and spending time with her family. Makayla attended Frontline Ministries in Dover, where she participated in the children’s and pillar ministries. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

During her life, Makayla was blessed to have a loving support system that consisted of her aunts, Brenda Watson, Sarah Pierce, Dellie Belton-Nichols; three special cousins, Anika Watson, Cameron Grayson and Alveria Brisco, in addition to others.

Makayla was preceded in death by her grandparents, Betty Dennard, and Frank and Marie Watson; her mother, Peggy Dennard; uncles, Frank E. Watson Jr., Kenneth Watson, Rev. Howard Rogers; and other ancestors. Left with her cherished memory is her father, Terry Watson of Dover; two uncles, Henderson Watson of Dover and Larry Watson of Wilmington; one great-aunt, Doretha Howard of Philadelphia, Pa.; five aunts, Ella Rogers of Coconut Creek, Fla., Denise Jones (Jerry) of Douglasville, Ga., Paulette Watson of Dover, an aunt who cared for her like a mother, Brenda Watson of Milford, and Sandra Watson of Frederica; and a host of cousins and friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 28, at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division St., Dover. Family and friends may visit from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
