A Milford man faces burglary and other charges after a trooper spotted him driving a stolen tractor, police say.

Police were called at 7 a.m. Nov. 20 to a property on Benson Road for a report of a John Deere tractor stolen from inside a detached garage, said Master Cpl. Heather Pepper of the Delaware State Police.

While a trooper was investigating the burglary, she said, Raymond E. Justice, 43, drove past on Pine Haven Road, riding a John Deere tractor that matched the stolen one’s description.

Police stopped Justice and determined that the tractor was stolen, Pepper said.

During a search of Justice, Pepper said, police also found drug paraphernalia and about .04 grams of crack cocaine. Justice was taken into custody without incident and taken to Troop 7 where he was charged with felony second-degree burglary, felony theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $12,400 cash bond.
