A Washington, D.C., man was charged with driving under the influence after a crash about 4 p.m. Feb. 26 that slowed traffic near Red Mill Pond.
The man, 47, drove his 1997 Porsche into a utility pole, nearly knocking it over and causing local power outages. The driver had unspecified injuries; he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and cited with failure to remain within a single lane.
A second crash happened about 5:30 p.m. at the Route 1 intersection at Nassau Road. No further information was available.
