A Salisbury, Md., man faces charges after police say he carjacked an 80-year-old woman Jan. 13 in the driveway of her Seaford home and then kidnapped her.
About 10 a.m., Ralph Harmon, 23, physically assaulted the woman before tying her up and putting her inside her vehicle, Seaford police said. Harmon then took the woman to a Salisbury residence, where she was found and taken to a hospital, police said. The woman was treated for her injuries and released.
Police eventually found the stolen vehicle near E. Main Street in Salisbury. At the time, police said, several people fled the vehicle, but they were able to catch Harmon.
Harmon was charged by Maryland State Police for crimes committed in Maryland. He faces first-degree attempted murder, second-degree attempted murder, kidnapping, first-degree assault, third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense, robbery, armed robbery, resisting arrest and theft.
Harmon is being held in Wicomico County Detention Center without bail. There are no details on when he may face charges in Delaware.
