Police are investigating after a man was found dead Saturday, Feb. 16, after stabbing his wife in Lincoln.

A woman, 36, was stabbed several times by her husband, 39, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police.

Police went to a home in the 200 block of Cedar Drive at about 6 p.m., Jaffe said, but the man had fled. Police later found the man dead at a nearby park, she said.

The woman was taken to Bayhealth Sussex Campus, and later transferred to Christiana Hospital in stable condition, Jaffe said.

The man’s body was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death.

Due to the sensitive nature of this case and in consideration for the victim, Jaffe said, only limited information will be released.
