December 7, 2022

Police are searching for a man who they say illegally used a Rehoboth Beach resident’s debit card for two months.

Police say Jorge Vasquez, 54, stole a debit card from a Rehoboth Beach resident and used it several times to make unauthorized purchases and withdrawals, said Sr. Cpl. Leonard DeMalto of the Delaware State Police.

Troopers have attempted to locate Vasquez but have been unable to do so. He is described as Hispanic, about 5-feet-6-inches tall, weighing about 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Vasquez is homeless and believed to frequent the Rehoboth Beach and Georgetown areas, DeMalto said.

Vasquez currently has several active warrants for his arrest, including a felony warrant stemming from this case.

Troopers ask anyone who has information regarding Vasquez’s whereabouts to contact Sergeant A. Morris of the Delaware State Police Troop 4 Financial Crimes Unit at 302-752-3806, or 911. Information may also be provided by contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or at www.delawarecrimestoppers.com.
